ULTRA HIGH MOLECULAR AMORPHOUS
Application published 2006-03-24, filed 2004-02-09
The calculated quantities of SiO2 (Amorphous Silica) and UHMPE (Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene) are put in a 750-RPM mixing machine and is mixed for one hour. After the powder mixture is thoroughly mixed a calculated quantity of a particular grade of oil which assists in holding the elements together due to the high temperature during: extrusion of the product is added and is mixed for half an hour in mixing m/c 2. After a final mixing m/c 3 the material attains homogeneity and takes the shape of oily balls. This material is now put into an extruder, which is undirectionally rotating biaxial extruder or uniaxial extruder. The dye is a Flat T-Dye and provision is made to make sure that the rollers of the post-extrusion equipment have to be kept cooled continuously by circulating water. Temperatures of different zones of the T-Dye are maintained so that the material flows out properly. The material is now washed in trichlorethylene for a specific number of minutes by passing it through a trough containing the chemical. Excess oil is washed out in this process. Now the material is made to pass through an oven set temperatures and the final product is checked for pores and it then cut to the required size and is directly used in the lead acid battery..
