: MODERATE WIDTH BACKWARD AEROFOIL BLADED FAN

Application 1116/KOL/2005 published 2007-05-25, filed 2005-12-07
Present invention relates to propose a moderate-width backward aerofoil bladed radial fan adaptable to utilities and process industries which eliminates the disadvantages of the prior art fans. Accordingly, there is provided a modular-width backward aerofoil bladed fan adaptable to utilities and process industries, the fan being drivable by an electric motor, the fan comprising: an impeller having a back and/or a centre plate, the plate being provided with at least one aerofoil blade; a spiral casing internally accomoding the impeller, and acting as a diffuser to recover the kinetic energy of the fluid leaving the impeller, and an inclined inlet guide vane control configuration acting as a flow regulating means to minimize pressure drop. The blade of the impeller comprises backward aerofoil which has special profile to ensure smooth entry via selectively configured exit angles. Dimensions of the casing, the suction chamber has been optimized to extract maximum kinetic energy. Inclined inlet guide vane has been developed to have better controllability in performance with lesser losses.
