An automatic hair implanter for manufacturing a wig and a method of manufacturing the wig, the implanter comprising a means for supplying artificial hair (30) on the entire surface of a base (11) and a needle (41) movable forward and backward in a direction orthogonal to one surface of the base (11); the method comprising the steps of piercing the needle (41) into the base (11) in extended state and pulling out the artificial hair (30) to the other surface of the base (11), supplying the base (11) to the upper surface of a movable moving table (21) moving in a direction two-dimensionally orthogonal to the base according to the order preset at a specified pitch and bringing the base into the extended state, implanting the artificial hairs in the extended state, and releasing the extended state after implanting, whereby the needle holes due to implanting of artificial hair can be prevented from being formed continuously (FIG. - 1)
