The invention relates to a device for dispersing and melting flowable materials, which comprises axis-parallel, equidirectionally rotating support shafts (1, 2) onto which screw elements (3, 3') having the same direction of thread are placed in a rotationally fixed manner with which the shafts intermesh. The screw elements (3, 3') consist of screw sections (11, 12, 13, 14 and 11', 12', 13', 14') that are disposed with the same sense of rotation at a progressive angular displacement relative one another, thereby forming fronts (15, 16; 15', 16').
