The invention disclosed inthis application relates to a novel water soluble antioxidant peptide-Turmerin which is non toxic and useful for preventing many diseases like cancer, Arthritis, Atherosclerosis, Cataract and the like which comprises curuminoids / curcumin and Turmerin in the ratio of 1:10 , the remaining being ash and other undentified compounds devoid of sugars. The antioxidant is prepared by extracting from turmeric powder (Curcuma longa) by boiling water and subsequently using ethyl acetate which is non-toxic.
